Heather received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2000. Then, she received her Master’s of Science in Nutritional Science from California State University, Long Beach in 2004. She became a Certified Diabetes Educator in 2007 and earned her Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management in 2011. Heather’s past experience includes clinical research, working with adults inpatient and outpatient in clinical settings, pioneering a weight management program as well as a Gestational Diabetics program, and home health diabetes education. She is passionate about helping those with diabetes improve their quality of life. Heather has been in San Antonio for five years and is thrilled to be apart of the Diabetes Metabolism Specialists team.
